2.png

4.png

Main Event Entertainment opens new family fun venue in Suwanee, Georgia

The 50,000-square-foot Main Event Entertainment in Suwanee gives visitors the option of trying bowling on one of its 22 lanes, trying their hand at one of its more than 100 arcade video games, shuffleboard, billiards or taking to the sky on its rope obstacle course and zip line.

Rick Bobo’s family had a special treat for his 5-year old daughter’s birthday on Tuesday.

They took her to Suwanee’s new entertainment attraction, Main Event Entertainment, and let her do some bowling — off the back of a dinosaur.

Don’t worry though. This wasn’t Jurassic Park come to life as a bowling attraction. The dinosaur was plastic and just a tool used to help little children get their bowling balls going down the lane.

The Bobo family was among the first guests who got to experience Main Event’s variety of entertainment options on its opening day.

The 50,000-square-foot family fun venue gives visitors the option of trying bowling on one of its 22 lanes, trying their hand at one of its more than 100 arcade video games, shuffleboard, billiards, Laser Tag or taking to the sky on its rope obstacle course and zip line.

Main Event also has a full bar that serves drinks offers a chef-inspired menu, as well as a quick service eating area, La Bella’s, which lets guests get snacks or a quick meal, such as pizza or chicken tenders, as well as quick drinks.

“We’re looking to bring family entertainment that’s all inclusive,” General Manager Eric Astin said. “By all inclusive, I mean you can come with your family and play games, or you can come by yourself and enjoy a drink. We have a full restaurant and bar, and you can bowl.

“Basically, we’re a family-centered, bowling-anchored entertainment facility. There’s something for all ages, from 5 to 95, and everything in between.”

Among the arcade games is what Astin called “the world’s largest Pac-Man game” with an eight-foot screen.

“That is a lot of Pac-Man,” he said.

There are also party rooms that can be used for birthday and holiday parties, school and church activities or business events, and the venue can be rented out by school or church groups for overnight lock-ins.

The rope obstacle course is typical of what visitors to a Main Event Entertainment location will find, Astin said. While it was mostly quiet early on during the venue’s opening day, the general manager said he expects it will be popular with visitors on the weekends when kids aren’t in school and are more likely to visit with their parents and friends.

“It’s a raised obstacle course,” he said. “It has 14 different elements to it of varying degrees of difficulty and it also has the the zip line. It’s not huge like you would see in the woods, but it is interesting the first time you do it. I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive about doing it, but my kids love it.”

“If kids are out of school, we open 9 a.m., every day of the week,” Astin said. “When kids go back in, we typically open at 11 a.m., except on Saturdays.”
